WATCH: Emily Blunt & James Corden’s Musical Tribute to ‘Romeo and Juliet’ Features Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Adele & More

Emily Blunt and James Corden went back Into the Woods on the Late Late Show from London, when the fellow British singer/actors put on their finest frocks for the latest edition of the whirlwind bit “Soundtrack To.” And, this being their home turf, they of course chose to do a no-cuts, 14 song, 7-set sprint through Shakespeare’s most indelible love story via classic hits from the likes of Ludacris, Adele, Whitney Houston, Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Nazareth, and DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, among others.

It sounds like it makes no sense, but trust us, once you see how they expertly deployed that mixed bag of musical titles in the service of the tragic tale of star-crossed lovers you’ll never watch R&J the same way again. Blunt kicked things off at the ball by singing Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” which inspired Corden to respond with Mars’ “Just The Way You Are.”

They were, of course, quickly living a “Teenage Dream,” with Blunt crooning Adele’s “Hello” from her balcony and Corden responding with Lionel Richie’s yearning song of the same name as the Capulets and Montague’s got to battling to Carl Douglas’ iconic “Kung-Fu Fighting.”

The endless lovers wondered “What’s Your Fantasy” and then complained their families were being “Rude,” leading Blunt to take something “Toxic.” And well, you know how it ends, but not typically with Carl Carlton’s 1974 disco soul classic “Everlasting Love.”
