GLOBAL NEFFWORK SCOTLAND: “The Kantele Tapes” by Kung Fu Jesus

Craig Snape aka Kung Fu Jesus comes from Lanark in Scotland. A prolific songwriter who fuses classic rock n roll with electro rhythms and Beach Boy inspired harmonies, combined with lyrics covering social injustice and spiritual ideology.

A ten track affair where multi instrumentalist Snape played nearly all the music on the album.
Each track was individually written and recorded in one day as he followed the creative technique of “first thought best thought”.

After his first well received Indie Rock album “Celestial Gold” he maintains a similar sound but with a lot more electronic influences coming through. Much like the first album the songs are varied in their styles overall and the album is one that can be listened to again and again, each time finding new layers of depth to the music.
Lyrically it also appears as a stream of consciousness, hinting at certain meanings of an ambiguous spiritual nature. A step forward in all aspects of songwriting, musicianship and particularly the vocals, which soar and sweep in rainbow like colours throughout the album. If you were a fan of his first album then you should enjoy this one too.

Released on Rubber Taxi Records on the 7th August 2017 – available on itunes and spotify
