Will the NBA witness Durantula taking his talents to Tinsletown?
The NBA regular season hasn’t officially began yet and already there has been talks regarding next summer’s free agency signing period. With NBA superstars such as Kobe Bryant, Joe Johnson and Dwyane Wade on their last year of contract with their current squads, one superstar who is not on the list who will be a free agent this upcoming summer already has a ideal team he wouldn’t mind suiting up for. Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is leaning towards taking his talents to Hollywood to put on that purple & gold uniform as a Los Angeles Laker.
According to a source by the name of Steve DelVecchio of Larry Brown Sports, ESPN’s Steven A. Smith reported on his co-hosted hit show “First Take” that Durant has interest in the Lakers. He continued by saying this,
Regardless of how senseless it may (sound), in one breath I’m hearing that if Kevin Durant doesn’t stay in Oklahoma City, L.A. is his primary objective and landing spot as opposed to South Beach or even his home of Washington, D.C. When you take into account that Phil Jackson is on the record saying it might be Kobe’s last year in L.A. — opening the door that there are possibilities for him to go elsewhere. All I’m saying is you just never know.
Fresh out of a foot injury that ended his 2014-2015 season, Durant will be looking forward to showing fans that he is still a scoring machine. With a new head coach in Billy Donovan from the University of Florida stepping in to run the show, and a MVP like season Russell Westbrook had while KD was on the sidelines, the Thunder are looking to make some major noise in the Western Conference as they came just a game short of returning to the NBA playoffs last year. It’s safe to say that free agency talk is in the back of Durantula’s mind. After all, he has up to July to decide if he wants to return to OKC. The 27-year-old former MVP is ready to light it up and the NBA fans are looking forward to the silky smooth scorer to do just that, precisely.
