@Raury makes his late-night debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, but was he taking a shot at Donald Trump?

Raury made his late-night debut Tuesday when appearing on Late Night With Stephen Colbert to sing “Devil’s Whisper,” and though he gave a tremendous performance, the 19-year-old also used the airtime to make a statement about Donald Trump.

While on stage, Raury wore a Mexico soccer jersey with the name Trump, crossed out with a big X, on the back. “Trump embodies separation, solving problems with anger, fear, and personal differences,” Raury told VICE News, who was backstage with the singer-rapper before the taping. “I’m all about the opposite, about being inclusive and open.”

Trump had appeared on the same Colbert episode and was in the studio on Tuesday night, but VICE News reported that he left before Raury got on stage. At the end of his performance, Raury gave Colbert a soccer jersey with the host’s name emblazoned on the back, an interaction which can be seen in the video below.

Raury’s actions were a clear response to disparaging comments Trump has made against Mexican people during his presidential campaign. “I’ll always have something to say, especially when it affects me, like police brutality or giving the police any more power,”Raury told Vice News. After the show he tweeted his support for the Hispanic community.
